In 2017, the City of Montréal will celebrate its 375th anniversary. The Urban Walks project fits within this context by proposing the development of a network of green infrastructure that combines biodiversity and urban life.
It was with this perspective that the Saint-Laurent borough commissioned Catalyse Urbaine in 2013 to organize a citizen ideation workshop. Catalyse Urbaine guided residents in imagining interventions that would energize public spaces and create spontaneous social gathering places.
The results of this workshop were analyzed, and priority interventions were identified for the implementation of a pilot Urban Walks project in Saint-Laurent.
