Suspended Landscapes Competition

The competition entitled Suspended Landscapes (Paysages Suspendus) intended to enrich the automotive experience at the entrance of Quebec City, by installing a permanent art piece on the Dufferin-Montmorency highway.

Catalyse Urbaine proposes to unleash the ubiquitous chain-link fence to create a dynamic piece that recalls the changing colours of the St-Lawrence river. Set free, the chain-link fence stretches, expands, and plays hide-and-seek with the continuous stream of cars. Its chain link mesh unravels, to weave a delicate lace of aquatic shapes.
