mPh

Built in the dense urban neighbourhood of Pointe-Ste-Charles in Montreal, the Maison Productive House (mPh) is a 9-unit residential project that offers a platform for sustainable urban living, and provides residents with fresh produce at little cost. Each unit has a sun-room to grow vegetables, and tenants share a large communal roof-top garden and four-season greenhouse, that is heated by residual heat from the communal bread oven. Berry and herb gardens grow on vertical trellises and landings of fire escapes. Rainwater and grey water is collected on-site, and used to irrigate the roof garden and the miniature fruit tree orchard.
